HPT is Pleased to Announce an Appointment to its Board of Directors
Hydropower Technologies, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Albert Maringer to its Board of Directors. Dr. Maringer’s professional career spans over fifty years (50+) from 1961 as an entry level R & D engineer with Siemens & Halske AG( Germany) to senior roles and general management with Siemens AG, Global Corp HQ and Siemens Canada , and more recent, President and CEO of Siemens Canada a role he held from 2000-2006.
Dr. Maringer holds a PhD in Macro-Economics (PhD. (Econ.), and as well a Masters in Economics (MA) (Econ), a Masters in Electrical Engineering (MA) (EE) and an Honorary Diploma from St. Lawrence College, Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
For the past twenty years (20) Dr. Maringer has maintained a professorship and Chair at the Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat, in Jena, Germany, under the International Management department and holds a Dean’s Advisory Council Membership at the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, Ontario.
Dr. Maringer retains the honorary title of Dean Emeritus, with Siemens Academy for Business Excellence, a JV with Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario and Chairman Emeritus., Advisory Committee, for the Centre for German- European Studies and York University, Toronto, Ontario and was awarded the John W. Hodgins Memorial Award for distinguished engineer in 2006 from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.

Current board mandates include the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors, Director and Chairman emeritus with Canadian-German Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Aufsichtsratsmitglied (board member) with Guardus AG, Ulm, Germany, and Advisory Board member with Skypower, Inc, Canada.
Dr. Maringer also has held several board roles in a capacity of member, Chairman and/or director with Canadian Council of Chief Executives, Utilicase Inc., The Conference Board of Canada, Clinicare, Inc., the Calgary Zoo and Westport Innovations, Inc., respectively.
